I decided to post about the science fiction stories I’m reading in the hopes of staying on top of what’s going on in the genre, as well as return to some classic works. The new Clarkesworld was released recently and I always start with some of the short pieces to read. This issue has some interesting stories and one that I just fell in love with.
- The Oldest Fun by Natalia Theodoridou – Loved this one. Had the feeling of a gothic haunting with the creepy sentiment of adolescence. Really interesting!
- The Lark Ascending by Eleanna Castroianni– Loved the point-of-view on this one and the depth of identity with our narrator.
- Occurrence at O1339 by Kelly Jennings – Absolutely fantastic!! Funny and clever. The personalities here make this a great read.
